墨尔本会展中心依水而建，坐落于澳大利亚维多利亚区风景如画的亚拉河南码头，是目前南半球规模最大、功能最全、设备最先进的现代化大型展馆，2012-2016年连续5年被评为“澳大利亚龙头会展中心”，同时，它也是世界上唯一一个获得“绿色星球”六星级环保评级的会展中心。其“刀锋”造型的展馆入口犀利而优雅，整个会展中心创造性地使用大量玻璃，其中高达18米的落地玻璃幕墙甚为壮观，墨尔本会展中心凭借着在建筑艺术上的高度创新，1996年建成时便获得“1996年度澳大利亚国家公共建筑奖”。
墨尔本会展中心由墨尔本会议中心与墨尔本展览中心组成，目前正在进行展馆扩建工程，等2018年7月1号扩建完成时，它的室内展览面积将由40，000㎡扩大至49,000㎡，进一步巩固“南半球第一大馆”的地位。除了1个单层大型展馆外，墨尔本会展中心还建有1个1,000席位的大礼堂、1个可容纳450-790位嘉宾的高级宴会厅、2个小型内院会议室（各可容纳70人）和1个地下会议室（可容纳180人），当展会的人员透过18米玻璃幕墙向外远眺时，没有一个不被无与伦比的亚拉河美景与墨尔本的秀丽风光所震撼！同时，墨尔本会展中心也是澳大利亚唯一一个建有内部酒店的展馆，五星级的豪华酒店--墨尔本南岸希尔顿酒店就建在这里；而在会展中心四周，步行距离内则分布有超过6,000间舒适客房。这里的交通也十分方便，它靠近市中心，开车去机场也仅需20分钟，更有公车237路与有轨电车12路、96路、109路经过这里，为展会人员提供灵活的交通方案。

The Exhibition Centre opened in 1996 and was created by Denton Corker Marshall. In 1996 the Exhibition Centre was awarded the Sir Zelman Cowen Award for public architecture.
